The Campaign
Emergency care is at a critical crossroads for Van Wert County Hospital. Patient counts are increasing each year and the facility strains to provide a quality experience due to a severe lack of space.
Emergency Services increasingly is the "entrance way" with 80% of our Hospital's bed patient care originating from an emergency room visit The Hospital is on track to admit 17,000+ patient visits through the ER in 2008 and a projected 20,000+ patient visits within the next few years.
Plans are in place to build an expanded Emergency Services facility totaling 12,000 square feet that will provide a quality care experience for those facing the trauma of emergency care.
We believe it is possible to raise at least $4,000,000 from the greater Van Wert community over a pledge period of five years that starts in 2009. The Hospital will invest significantly from its reserves to fund the remainder of the construction cost.
This project is not only a health care improvement initiative, but also delivers economic impact. A quality care experience in the ER helps to increase patient retention for other hospital services, which in turn sustains hospital staff for one of the area's largest employers,
We are willingly investing our time, talent, and funds for this notable effort to enhance health care for the Greater Van Wert area. We invite you to join us!
