About Us

1905
Dr. Cecil A. Files would look in wonderment at today's advances in health care for the greater Van Wert community. Dr. Files was the director of the hospital first recognized as a "County" Hospital. Pictured is Van Wert's first hospital, founded in 1905.

1915
George Henry Marsh, a community - benefactor, acknowledging the need for a larger facility, provided the funds in 1915 to convert the 4th Ward School into a hospital that served the community until 1960.

1960
As in 1960, when the current Van Wert County Hospital opened its doors due to the growing need for services, today finds the Hospital seeking to improve and expand critical services for the growing need for emergency care.
